The Sri Jinarathana Vocational Training Centre, established in 1978 by Venerable Devundara Vacissara and later developed and expanded by Venerable Galboda Gnanissara Thera, has been a beacon of hope for school dropouts in Sri Lanka for over four decades. With its mission to equip individuals with employable skills, the center offers a diverse range of over 50 technical courses, covering fields such as electronics, motor mechanics, tinkering and painting, welding, electrical wiring, blacksmithing, English language teaching, secretarial courses, and IT education.
To adapt to the evolving job market, the center has incorporated courses in mobile phone repair, graphic design, computer hardware, network engineering, and Microsoft Office. With the main training center located in Colombo and 40 other training centers established across the island, the center has significantly contributed to skill development nationwide.
Since its inception, the Sri Jinarathana Vocational Training Centre has made a remarkable impact, having successfully trained over 100,000 young people, providing them with the necessary skills to pursue meaningful employment opportunities and contribute to the socio-economic development of Sri Lanka.
