SPECIAL RELIGIOUS SERVICE AT GANGARAMA, TO BLESS JAPAN

A series of special religious service will be held at Gangarama  Monatery to bless Japan and its people to invoke the protection of the Triple Gem and the deities.

Commemorative Buddhist religious services will be held to transfer merit to those unfortunate victims of this unprecedented natural disaster, to enable those who lost their lives to attain the bliss of Nibbana. The special services will bless Japan and the people to enable them to receive the protection of the Triple gem and the deities.

For this purpose a special mid-day alms-giving is arranged for the monks, on the 17th of March 2011, which marks the 7th day of the disaster. The alms-offering would have Japanese rituals as well. In the evening of the same day at 5.30pm, a special religious service will take place to bless and invoke protection to Japan and its people. Japanese people in Sri Lanka can participate in these special religious services. Any devotee can take part in these religious services.
